For years I limited what I thought was possible for me because I assumed that to be a leader in tech I would be required to work 80 hours or more a week. I did everything. I thought I had to choose between having a personal life and the career that I knew I was meant to have. 

I felt I could never say no, that I had to do all the things, all the time. I didn’t know how to effectively delegate without worrying about the quality. And I took on so much I felt that nothing was being done as well as it should be. 

The more responsibilities I took on, my core skills dropped as I had no brain space for the work that actually meant I would get the promotion. Deep work became a thing that I did at weekends rather than in the office. My email became a constant source of anxiety. 

I spent a lot of time researching what sort of roles might be best for me given my skill set and what I enjoyed doing. I thought that there was only one option open to me, which wasn’t very inspiring to begin with. 

But it turns out it didn’t need to be like that. Instead, I learnt about being strategic in my career.

I realised that I didn’t have to do all the things. I learnt how to delegate purposefully, how to build a stronger team and develop their potential, not just my own. My leadership skills skyrocketed and as a result, my team delivered quality outputs without my constant attention. 

I want to help you short-cut the process that took me years to figure out and learn and implement the techniques I learnt so that you can wake up in a role you love as soon as possible. 

My passion is helping women thrive in their careers, to get more women into roles that mean they are excited to get up in the morning. But thriving doesn’t just happen. It takes planning. Identifying the best path, not always the fastest or the easiest is difficult for everyone.
